You don't need to visit two places in one day! For example, you can visit the hot spring in next day. So if you are plan to visit both of places while you are staying in Amanohashidate, I highly recommend this ticket!

There is no direct public transportation from Kansai airport.
You need to go to Osaka first, then please see "direction from Osaka".

Ferry between KYOTO(京都) and HOKKAIDO(北海道)

This is the cheapest way to travel Kyoto(Maizuru舞鶴) & Hokkaido(Otaru小樽)!!

If you are visiting for skiing, some express bus runs between Otaru to Niseko.

Access: From Higashimaizuru(東舞鶴) train station to Maizuru port(Maizuru-ko舞鶴港) about 30mins(2.3km) walk. 5mins by taxi(approx.1000yen).
When it is holiday season in Japan, there is a shuttle bus between the station and the port. (approx. Single ticket 200yen/person, 10mins)
*At a port in Otaru/Hokkaido, shuttle bus leaves at 21:30 to Otaru train station. 220yen/person. 30mins.

Rent a bicycle and drop off at any of 6 stations!!

1 bicycle station in Amanohashidate area& 5 bicycle stations located in Nodagawa(野田川) area where famous for producing Kimono fabric(Crape) called Tango-chirimen(丹後ちりめん) "Crape is a silk fabric used to produce rich Kimono." 1/3 of silk fabric of Japan is made in this area!

You can rent a bike from one of the 6 stations and return to one of the stations.
The stations CLOSED January&February&March.
OPEN 10:00-15:00(to rent), until 17:00(to return)
Cost: 200yen/bike *Once you return a bike to one of the station and would like to rent a bike again, you need to pay next 200yen/bike

Steam train museum

*Kaya-SL(steam locomotive) Hiroba(加悦ＳＬ広場)
You can step into the most of trains. Some of them are shipped from UK and used in Japan. You can also see the first electronic train in Japan(1895) which ran in Kyoto city(perhaps you will recognise there is no tram on the street anymore in Kyoto city while you travel, they closed down in 1978).
Train restaraunt&café available(OPEN 8:00-18:00, CLOSED on Wed*if Wed is public holiday, they are closed on Thursday instead).
