Well, I personally think you perhaps would like to purchase the ticket before your trip start because otherwise you must get off from the express train and wait another 1hr at least.
So I checked(called) where you can buy the ticket at Kyoto station(京都駅).

Meridian northernmost tower - Saihokushigosentou(最北子午線塔)

The tower located at the northernmost area where determine the standard time of Japan, along the 135th meridian east of Greenwich.
The tower hight is 5.5m.

ACCESS:

• From Amino(網野) train station 10mins by taxi
• From Amino station take a bus about 10mins get off at Hiyoshibashi(日吉橋)then walk 20mins(1.8km), Bus fare:200yen/single
• From Amino train station 4.5km about 25mins by bicycle 

Rental bicycle is available at the train station OPEN 9:00-16:00
Rate:2hrs 200yen, 3hrs 300yen, 1day 500yen
        (Deposit 1000yen which you will get back when you return the bicycle)
            

The longest swimming beach - Shotenkyo kaisui-yokujo(小天橋海水浴場)

This is the one of the longest beach located along the Japan sea.
The beach is about 8km long with white sand.

*From Shotenkyo(小天橋) station 5mins by car

*From Kumihama(久美浜) station 30mins(6.5km) by bicycle
-5 bicycles are available to rent at the Kumihama station. 400yen/day
**A shared taxi also running in Kumihama town. It costs 500JPY/person per ride within Kumihama town area. Since it is a shared taxi, you need to make a reservation.

Better to ask someone who can speak Japanese to book, for example Kumihama station staff. The shared taxi's operation hour is 8:30-17:30.
***There is also normal taxi company available in the area although the fare will be higher than shared one.

Yacht shaped Bridge

- which known as "yottobashi(ヨット橋)" although the official name is "Minatobashi(湊橋)"

The bridge located at the meeting point of Ootegawa-river and the sea.

Amanohashidate-sessyuukan-tenboukyuukeijyo(天橋立雪舟観展望休憩所)

About 15mins climb up stairs and you can reach to the view point which famous painter Sesshu(雪舟) draw Amanohashidate(天橋立). That painting is a national treasure.

In mid-April to end of May you can see flower "Mitsubatutuji(みつばつつじ)" Rhododendron dilatatum.

• 35mins walk (2.6km) from Miyazu(宮津) station
• 5mins by bus from Miyazu station and get off at Shiizakiguchi(獅子崎口) then walk about 10mins(650m)　
• 15mins from Miyazu station by bicycle
• 30mins from Amanohashidate station by bicycle
